In order to achieve the objectives promoted by LIFE Soria ForestAdapt, a consortium of partner entities has come together that, led by the Global Nature Foundation, represent the broad spectrum that ranges from the university to the company, passing through centers of technological profile and entities certifying sustainability processes.

Global Nature Foundation

The Global Nature Foundation is a private, non-profit foundation dedicated to the protection of nature. Its work is based on technical expertise, ethical commitment, and innovation. Since its consolidation in 1993, it has combined theory and practice, combining the development of strategies and plans with field work and applied projects. More than 20 awards have recognized their work in recent years. Its activity is divided into three main areas: conservation of habitats and species, sustainability of the agri-food sector and corporate sustainability. The actions and projects that make up each thematic area are interrelated to create synergies, increase effectiveness in the use of resources and give continuity to each line of action.

Cesefor Foundation

Cesefor (a private non-profit foundation) is a service centre for the promotion of forestry and its associated industries. It is a centre based in the Region of Castile and Leon (Spain), but today with a national and international vocation. Cesefor aims to contribute to rural development through its projects, aimed at increasing the competitiveness and sustainability of forest industries that use regional forest resources. To this end, Cesefor brings together a series of services: training, consultancy, education, and R&D projects.

University of Valladolid

The University of Valladolid (UVa) is an educational institution founded in 1241 that through its four campuses (Palencia, Segovia, Soria and Valladolid) is aimed at the training of professionals, and the creation and transfer of knowledge. Its University Institute for Research in Sustainable Forest Management (iuFOR) concentrates most of its efforts on knowledge generation and transfer in the forestry sector.

Association to promote the rational use of forest products and services (FSC Spain)

FSC is a global non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion of responsible forest management around the world. FSC sets standards for responsible forest management and enables consumers to make informed decisions about the forest products they buy, to create positive change by sharing the power of market dynamics. It currently has more than 190 million hectares of total certified area in 82 countries and more than 31,250 chain-of-custody certified companies in a total of 120 countries.

Spanish Association for Sustainable Forestry (PEFC Spain)

PEFC Spain is a non-profit organisation, open to the participation of national or sectorial associations, forest producers, industrialists, traders, consumers or NGOs interested in sustainable forest management. PEFC Spain, established in 1999, is a founding member of the PEFC Council at international level. It has been promoting SFM of Spanish forests for more than 20 years, through the application of PEFC certification in Spain and promoting the value chain of all forest-based products by tracing them to the final consumer through chain of custody certification. PEFC Spain has worked on the development and implementation of the Spanish PEFC Forest Certification System, composed of the Spanish Technical Document and the UNE Standards for Sustainable Forest Management. It currently has more than 300 million ha certified worldwide and more than 20,000 companies. Nationally, more than 47,000 forest owners and managers have chosen the PEFC system to certify more than 2.5 million hectares and more than 1,600 companies add value to their products through the chain of custody.  

Business and Climate Foundation

The private foundation Empresa y Clima (FEC) is a non-profit business organisation that was created in 2008 with the aim of offering support to companies of all sectors and sizes, providing information and appropriate tools to meet the commitments and challenges involved in the preservation of the environment and, in particular, climate change. For this purpose, it relies on a multidisciplinary work team to develop all its activities with optimal results. It currently has more than 80 companies among its members, 13 of which are participating in this LIFE Soria ForestAdapt Project.

General Foundation of the University of Valladolid

The General Foundation of the University of Valladolid (Funge), created in 1996, is responsible for the management of various university departments and infrastructures to promote, in an effective manner, the relationship between the University, society and the companies in its environment.
